My first blog post of 2014- Feeling blah

I made a promise to myself that I was going to blog once a week during 2014.  Its now the 9th of January and I don’t feel like I have anything worth talking about.

I struggle with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) this time of year.  I dutifully use my light lamp each morning but am still struggling to get through the day without feeling

So far 2014 hasn’t been that great for me.  In late December I had an allergic reaction to laundry detergent and broke out in a rash that lasted about 2 weeks.  Then I got a cold that lasted also about 2 weeks and this past Friday, while cleaning my office, I pulled out my back.  WTH!  I need to exercise people!  That is the only thing that can get me out of this mood I am in.  I am going to start again on Saturday, bad back or not!

For more exciting news, we are finally getting out guest bathroom redone!  YAH!.  Aryeh is moving out this coming Tuesday so I will actually have a guest room and soon a guest bathroom that I won’t feel embarrassed to have anyone use.  My house is about 45 years old and is in need of some serious repairs.  Mostly the bathrooms.  The one in our bedroom is in even much worse shape but that one will be much more expensive so I need to wait until I can get Noah off our payroll first.  That remodel will come in about a year or so, hopefully.

Sorry to be such a Debby Downer but that’s life.  Sometimes it feels good and sometimes not so much.  I just got to be honest about that.

The prize was $3 and my poster was hung at city hall for a month. It was a huge deal back in elementary school. This past year, I picked up a paintbrush and fell in love with painting all over again. This time I decided to stick to abstract painting on canvas. I am loving every minute of it!

    Hi Paige, been through the SAD issues a long time ago and the best combo by far that works wonderfully is to first have your Vit D levels checked. The right and best test is called the 25(OH)D test, and your optimum levels need to be between 50 and 70 NG/ML. Then one of the best supplements to keep or get your D levels where you need them is a well sourced combo Omega 3/Vit D 3. The one I have taken for years now is Res Q 1250 plus by N3 Oceanic Inc.. It has a well sourced Omega 3 and D 3 which are both ESSENTIAL for mood/ SAD / Depression issues. Why I like this supplement is because it has so many other multiple bennies for optimum health and wellness, too numerous to cover here. Second is something you touched on which is a regular exercise program, just move the body on a regular basis, especially in the winter when you can’t get out for sun exposure.
